On May 16, 2025, Adversity Cellars will have the pleasure of hosting the Wine Mind Retreat, an intimate and inspiring evening curated by Michael Gallagher, founder of Dapper Cellars and widely known as Mr. Wine Guy. Set in the heart of St. Helena, Napa Valley, the event will bring together exceptional wines, incredible food, and a deeper dialogue around wine and well-being.

This will be more than a dinner—it’s a mindset, a moment, and a rare invitation to experience the full soul of wine.

A Setting Designed for Connection

The evening will unfold at Adversity’s hillside estate along Silverado Trail, a site shaped by elevation, wind, and the striking chert-laced soils of Napa Valley. As the sun sets over the vineyards, guests will gather for an immersive tasting and culinary experience that reflects the rugged elegance of the land—and the bold winemaking of Russell and Heidi Bevan.

Wines That Speak with Intention

Guests will be guided through a handpicked selection of current and upcoming releases, including:

• 2023 Five Wells Chardonnay – Our return to Chardonnay is a triumph of energy and elegance. Mineral-driven, citrus-laced, and kissed with coastal influence, this wine is already a favorite among those who crave expressive whites with soul.
• 2022 Phelan Ranch “El Jefe” Cabernet Sauvignon – Bold and structured, with graphite, plum, and violet unfolding across a mountain-mineral core.
• 2022 Phelan Ranch “Elizabeth” Cabernet Sauvignon – Silky, lifted, and aromatically stunning. Think lavender and wild berries wrapped in polished tannin.
• 2022 Melanson Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon – A powerful wine from the volcanic slopes of Pritchard Hill—dark fruit, mocha, and brooding spice layered in signature Bevan texture.

But the real magic? Russell and Heidi Bevan will also be pouring a few special, off-list selections from deep within the cellar—bottles rarely shared, chosen specifically for this one-of-a-kind gathering.

A Navy veteran turned entrepreneur, he’s best known as the host of the Mr. Wine Guy Podcast, where he shares conversations with winemakers across the globe. With Dapper Cellars, he’s built a brand rooted in passion, people, and connection.

The Wine Mind Retreat is a reflection of Michael’s core philosophy: that wine can be a catalyst for presence, inspiration, and genuine human connection.
